My photo

People write diaries. Their diaries describe their personality. I write on my blog. It describes me way too well. :D
My writing takes me places my mind never wanted to go
Everyone writes. From the ink of their thoughts, by the pen of their mind on the page of their face. Everyone writes.I love to write. It is a passion; a compulsion; something that gives me an avenue to express myself. I write when I am happy; when I am sad or when an issue touches my heart. I find inspiration to write in every aspect of life.
This blog is dedicated to anything and everything that fills my thoughts and occupies cranial space

The Power of Tongue......

Have you ever wondered the power of your tongue? Its your tongue which can make a man powerful and at the same moment weak. Your tongue is very powerful and can make others realize what you want to make him realize.
Its also said that, the most powerful part of the body is the tongue....
Though it has no bone but can break our bones.........

Well jokes apart, the tongue is a very powerful part. While writing this post, a story came to my mind, which I read in 1st or 2nd standard, which truly explains the power of tongue. The story is-

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead.

Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out.

When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?” The frog explained to them that he was deaf.
He thought they were encouraging him the entire time!

This story teaches two lessons:
1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.
2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words… it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another.

Thanks

  1. This post is so true about the power of words.

God tells us that the power of LIFE and DEATH are in the tongue. It is so very imnportant to set a guard over our mouth and be careful with what words we speak!! Thank you for posting this.
